Born in a Tiki Bar is a collection of sketches, paintings, and ramblings created in the depths of Covid Lockdown. The project began first as a zine titled “Don’t Sh*t Where You Eat” which was housed by the Brooklyn Art Museum as part of the Sketchbook Project. Since the closing of each of these incredible art world entities, the zine was lost in a big rig fire (no really) while in transit to the SBP’s new home. The loss of the zine inspired my dive back in to the same feelings of longing and loss previously explored, but this time on canvas. Select works have since been shown at Grounded NW in Portland, OR.
